Carino's

Carino's is one of those restaurants that you can find pretty much anywhere, but it definitely has it's perks. I was actually there today for a friend's baby shower. The service was quick and friendly, and the server didn't even bat an eyelash at the request for ten different checks. We had our own room, and everything was tasty As with Double Dave's, it helps to manage your expectations for these kinds of places.

One great feature that Carino's offers is Monday Night Family Nights. On Monday nights all the family platters are half price. This is a great deal if you've got a family like mine, or if you're going out for a double date. I don't know if this is a limited time thing, but it's been going on for quite a while. I'm pretty sure it's been at least a year.

Today I had the lunch Chicken Scalloppini. For $8.49, I thought it was reasonably priced, and it was very tasty. I also had a raspberry Italian soda. I thought that was delicious, but my friend thought it was too sweet, so you've been warned.

Once again I can only vouch for the Stone Oak location, but I wouldn't hesitate to go there for lunch or for a Monday night dinner.

Double Dave's Pizzaworks

I thought about making my first review something really fancy, but then I thought I would make it a place where my entire family wants to go on a regular basis. The thing that I really like about Double Dave's is the pizza buffet. It's quite the feat when a family of 6 can eat at a buffet for under twenty dollars!  Now, we make this work mostly because the majority of our family is under the age of five, but we also take advantage of the buy 1 get 1 free coupons that arrive in the mailbox on a weekly basis.

Now, I'm not pretending that this place has the same caliber food that you'll find at Dough (more on that another day), but you will find a salad bar, any kind of pizza you want (they'll make it fresh if it's not on the buffet), dessert pizza, a sand box outside, and video games inside. We usually go right at 5:30, before it gets too busy. I can only vouch for the Stone Oak location , but it's always a great night for our family.

Welcome Welcome

I'm not native to San Antonio, but I love it here. What's more, I love going to restaurants in this town. What's wonderful about this city is that there are so many places to choose from. You can have delicous Mexican on the cheap, or you can have it the expensive way. There are lots of names that recognizeable the world over, and there are some amazing places that you'll only find here. Whatever you're looking for, you can find it in this city. This blog is going to explore the places I love and why I love them. I may even mention a few that weren't worth hiring a babysitter. For the most part though, I'm just going to talk about the places we've already found, and the ones we'll find in the future. Food makes me happy, and I want to share that with you
